The Desert of Forbidden Art

http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/desert-of-forbidden-art/

the Schindler of Russian Art, saved 40,000 works (some say stole) from the Bolsheviks.
A movie about this man, and gallery of some of the works.

There is a museum, now, in Uzbekistan . . .

The work of Soviet-era avant-garde artists almost disappeared under Stalin, but survived thanks to the passion and daring of one man in Uzbekistan.
