Grand Marnier Souffle'

Mozaika, Prague Beaujolais Menu

looking forward to this all year: Beaujolais time . . .
or as is known in the Czech Republic Cas Svato Martinske -- same thing . . . 8^D . . .

appetiser I approached warily, that turned out to be special: red beet carpaccio with goat cheese & frisee' (curly endive, just so you know . . . 8^D . . . )

rabbit leg sous vide . . . mrs said it tasted just like chicken . . . with the caramelized fennell on top . . . I tho't was superb . . .never go wrong with sous vide at Mozaika

Modry Zub

Mrs had the chicken salad with ginger leek . . . spicy and good

I had Khao Phad Sapporat - fried rice with prawns . . . more chinese than I expected . . . with that kinda burnt wok flavour that sometimes puts me off . . . looking more for that Thai / Vientnamese "fresh" taste of herbs & such . . . if you see how I mean . . .

Mozaika, Prague, the Autumn Menu

oooh, oooh, oooh, menu changed again at Mozaika . . .
this time mrs has the pike-perch & salmon stack . .  . she just loved it . . .
I had venison neck sous vide . . . I loved it . . .
for dessert we shared the hot raspberries with vanilla ice cream . . . loved it

El Amir, Palladium, Prague

Oh, it'd been a while, and we just felt like a vegetarian nosh, so we moseyed over to the palladium to El Amir for their platter:

tabouli (where's the frickin' bulgar!), houmus (very good), babaganoush (good), cheese-puffs (ok), falafel (mrs said too salty, I said great!) . . .

so we added a little lamb platter on the side . . .just needed some protein, too . . . the tsatsiki was very, very garlicky, which we like . . . the pickles, meh . . . we didn't touch

Pho *something* Huong

no, no, no, not the one at Karlin . . . this one is at IP Pavlova, but contrary to my expectations, the name of the place isn't anywhere except on the front of the building, which we didn't photo.

No matter. Disappointing . . .

mrs' pho gai was disappointing, tho she was very pleased with its appearance, just not enough going on . . . she didn't care for the bamboo shoots with chili, some off-taste . . .

my bun was disappointing . . . compared to the bun I got in Houston & austin, not mixed, not populated with enough stuff . . .altho' I will say the bbq pork was very good .  . .

so no return . . .

Modry Zub

Mrs got Phad Khi Mao Lon - Spicy Glass noodles with chicken

SheSoMoney had simply Tom Kha Kai soup.

I had Red Jungle Curry.

SSM had asked for hers to be extra spicy -- even tho' she was just having soup since her tummy was a little upset . . . 8^D . . . but I think they did us all . . . we were all wiping eyes and sniffling . . .

Jama Steak House, Prague

Kind of a special dinner with our BYOB Rodney Strong, provided by our hosts . . . Mmmm-hmmm.

Appetiser of Wings & Ribs . . . Good, but dang, overkill . . . 8^D . . . We enjoyed the zinfandel very much with these, or by itself, the cabernet was too heavy . . .

Top Blade Steak -- kinda chewy, gristly, but we enjoyed the side order of peppers & onions . . . 8^)

Rib Eye with rosemary potatoes . . . In serious meat sweats now . . . Cabernet stands up well, to say the least . . . 8^) . . .

Hanger Steak with bacon-wrapped green beans. . . OMG . . .

Aromi Lunch, Prague

lunch at aromi is a very pleasant experience, it goes without saying . .  .

the lentil minestrone is great . . . the lentils don't overwhelm the soup, if you see how I mean . . .

and this day we had grilled veal with a sinfully delish sauce/gravy . . . the grilled fennel on the side was awesome . . .

Sakura, Cerna Ruze, Prague

that is one wabi-sabi sake jug . . . 8^D . . .

miso shiro served correctly with porcelain spoon!

salmon & crab crunch rolls (as they call the tempura sushi rolls) . . . it's why we come . . .

a smaller, more finished sake jug from another visit . . .

tempura butterfly shrimp . . . with a very thick hoisin sauce, nummy

and impeccable gyoza with giner sauce . . . hahahahaha what a treat . . .

yaki soba . . . not soba noodles . . . a little disappointing . . . .

spicy tuna crunch rolls, this time . . . with white ginger and fresh wasabi . . .

Raderberger Spezialausschank, Dresden

Currywurst . . . which three years ago sounded funny to us, and we hadda walk deep into new town Dresden to get some, but now it's ubiquitous

Mrs ordered Dresdner Ribs Pan . . . OMG . . .I wound up eating half of these chops . . . the horseradish was awesome . . . but we are kind of rawhorseradish afficionados . . .

Nana had Rostbratel with onions & potatos, not to mention some green beans . . .

S-I-L had pickled herring (buried under all those onions & apples) and a pretzel . . .

one of our regular faves in Dresden
